Day 1 - Arrival / City tour
Meeting at Zvartnots international airport. Transfer to the hotel. Rest. We begin our acquaintance with one of the oldest cities in the world – the pink city of Yerevan. The city is located on the left bank of the Hrazdan river, away from the Ararat valley. It is impossible to imagine Yerevan without the famous Opera and ballet Theater, Republic square with its colorful fountains and government buildings. Mount Ararat is an integral part of Yerevan. Overnight in a hotel in Yerevan.
Day 2 - Yerevan / Garni / Geghard / Sevan
Breakfast at the hotel. The tour starts in the Kotayk region. Passing through beautiful landscapes, we will visit the pagan temple of Garni, which proudly took its place on the top of the Azat river gorge and is the only preserved example of the pagan era. The UNESCO world heritage Christian monastery complex Geghard is a 15-minute drive away. The monastery became famous for its relics, among which the most important is the spear used to wound Christ on the cross. Drive to Sevan Lake: the highest lake in the world with the height of 1900 meters above the sea level. Visit to medieval monastery complex Sevanavank, from where you can admire the unusual beauty and sight of the Sevan. Check in the Tsovasar Family Rest Complex****. Overnight in a hotel in Sevan.
Day 3 - Sevan / Dilijan / Haghartsin / Goshavank / Sevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Excursion to Dilijan: a small paradise in Armenia. Sharambeyan Street the well preserved “Old Town”. Visit to Haghartsin Monastery: it is a 13th century monastery complex with several churches. Visit to Goshavank is a 12th- or 13th-century Armenian monastery located in the village of Gosh in the Tavush Province of Armenia. Overnight in a hotel in Sevan.
Day 4 - Sevan / Noraduz / Selim Caravanserei / Noravank / Areni / Khor-Virap / Yerevan
Breakfast at the hotel. Continue the tour driving to the cemetery of cross-stones (or khachkars) Noratus. Many of these khachkars date back to the 13-17th centuries, and the oldest one dates back to the 7th century. Our next stop is Selim Caravanserei. Built along the Selim Pass, the caravanserai once hosted weary travelers and their beast of burden passing by. This unique architectural monument of Medieval Armenia is a splendid relic of the days when Armenia was a crossroad for economical, cultural and military affairs. Then visit the magnificent Noravank monastery (13th century), where the road leads through high picturesque rocks. Drive to the village of Areni with a stop at the winery for taste Armenian wines. In this village you can see the world’s oldest winery. Drive to Ararat valley and pay a visit to the Monastery of Khor -Virap. Overnight in a hotel in Yerevan.
Day 5 - Yerevan / Echmiadzin / Zvartnots / Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. We begin acquaintance with the spiritual Armenia at the very origins of Christianity – Etchmiadzin with the Cathedral (UNESCO), with the churches of Saint Gayane (UNESCO), Saint Hripsime (UNESCO). Throughout its history, Holy Etchmiadzin was not only the religious center of Armenia and managed vast estates, but also a place where the miraculous relics of the Armenian Church and rich gifts received from all over the Armenian world were stored. On your return to Yerevan, visit Zvartnots temple (7th century, UNESCO). Transfer to the airport. Return back to home impressed.
