The traditions of ancient winemakers are worthily continued by modern wine producers. During the Wine Tour, you will visit the main wine regions of Armenia, taste the best varieties of wine and get acquainted with the peculiarities of production. Day 1 - Arrival
Arrival to Yerevan. Hotel accommodation. Taking rest.
Day 2 - City tour around Yerevan / Echmiatsin / Zvartnots / Yerevan
Breakfast at hotel. City tour around Yerevan with a visit to the Cascade, Opera House, Northern Avenue, Republic Square. Visit to Etchmiadzin. Visit to the Cathedral (the main temple of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the seat of the Supreme Patriarch of the Catholicos of all Armenians), St. Hripsime Church. Lunch in the picturesque restaurant “Machanents”. Visit the ruins of the Zvartnots temple (UNESCO world Heritage site). Visit to the “Maran” winery, with tasting of 9 varieties of wine (“Noravank” dry white, “Bagratuni” dry white, “Noravank” dry red, “Bagratuni” dry red, “Areni Malishka” dry red, “Avagini” white semi-dessert, “Avagini” red semi-dessert,” S. Parajanov ” pomegranate semi-dry, “S. Parajanov” pomegranate semi-sweet). Visit to the carpet factory “Megerian Carpet”, where you can observe the production of carpets, which includes dyeing threads with vegetable dyes, weaving, cutting, finishing, etc. Overnight in Yerevan
Day 3 - Khor Virap / Noravank / Areni / Yerevan
Breakfast at hotel. A trip to the to the Monastery of Khor Virap (Deep dungeon) on the foot of Biblical mount Ararat. A trip to the “Areni” winery, where you can taste 10-12 varieties of wine. In this village, you can see the world’s oldest winery in the cave of birds. Lunch in a national restaurant. After that, you will go to one of the most magnificent monasteries in Armenia – Noravank. Tour around monastery complex. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 4 - Yerevan / Sevan / Dilijan / Ijevan / Yerevan
Breakfast at hotel. A trip to the pearl of Armenia – the high mountain lake Sevan. Visit to the summer residence of the Armenian king Ashot Yerkat – Sevanavank monastery. Then visit the amazing forest area of Dilijan and the center of Armenian traditional arts and crafts. Later, a trip to Ijevan to visit to the Ijevan winery. Tour in Ijevan winery, one of the leaders of the exportation of Armenian wine and cognac. Degustation of 5 varieties of wine, 2 varieties of collectible old wines and cognac (dry white, dry red, semi-sweet red, “Old Ijevan” red dessert, “Old Ijevan” white dessert, cognac “Nemrut”). Lunch at the factory restaurant. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 5 - Garni / Geghard / Yerevan
Breakfast at hotel. Then a trip to Geghard Monastery (literally – “spear”), also known by it’s old name Ayrivank. Tour around monastery. Visit to the pagan temple of Garni (Temple of the sun God Mithras). Time for a small culinary demonstration – baking traditional Armenian bread “lavash” in the underground oven “tonir”. Lunch at the restaurant, with home-made wine degustation. Return to Yerevan, where you will find a unique SPA treatment with wine and grapes (*extra charge payment). Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 6 - Yerevan / New Yedesia / Oshakan / Sasunik village / Yerevan
Breakfast at hotel. Visit to the “Armas” winery, with a degustation of 3 premium wine varieties. Excursions start with a walk through the picturesque vineyards and orchards that spread throughout the plantation. During your walk through the vineyards, you will be able to get acquainted with the surrounding area, walk on the fertile soil that feeds the seedlings. And most importantly, to communicate with the people who cherished all this, giving you the opportunity to see step by step the birth of high-quality ArMas wines-from the vine to the glass in your hands. At the end of the tour, you can participate in a training wine tasting in the Tasting room or on the balcony, where you can enjoy amazing view of the majestic Ararat. A trip to the village of Oshakan, where the relics of the Creator of the Armenian alphabet and writing are buried in an underground sarcophagus, and the alphabet Square – a monument to the Armenian alphabet. Then you will visit the “Armenia Wine ” winery, where you will taste 3 varieties of wine (Armenia red semi-sweet, takar dry white, Armenia pomegranate semi-sweet).Visitors are offered an interesting and informative tour of the factory, where you can get acquainted with the process of wine production, taste the wine, discovering the specifics of tasting. Lunch at the factory restaurant. Overnight in Yerevan.
Day 7 - Departure
Breakfast at the hotel. Transfer to the airport. Return back to home impressed.
